High River Otters Swim Club

The High River Otters Summer Swim Club is a family orientated, competitive swimming program. Our mission is to build an active, healthy community, to foster team spirit, and to provide opportunities for swimmers of all ages to improve their stroke and personal race times.

The Otters train Mondays through Fridays (4:00 - 6:00pm) at the Bob Snodgrass Recplex facility in the town of High River, Alberta. The Otters belong to Region E within the ASSA and compete in sanctioned swim meets held in High River, Okotoks, Calgary, Innisfail, Hanna and Canmore, Alberta. The swim meets are usually one-day events held on Saturdays from June until mid August.
For our younger swimmers, aged 4-6 we offer a Pups Program to help develop swimmer skills and confidence in the water.

We offer a trial period for any swimmer wanting to participate in the program. If, after the one week trial period has ended, and the swimmer cannot swim a width or length of the pool (depending on their age group), we will provide a full re-fund of the swimmer's registration fees.

Ultimately, our goal is to provide a fun, respectful and engaging environment for each and every one of our swim club members. We are looking to improve their skill and fitness levels both in and out of the water through quality coaching, positive swimmer dedication and strong team encouragement (like all good otter families!).

Joining the High River Otters Swim Club is a worthy commitment. The program is geared to reward swimmers through further developing and strengthening their personal fitness levels, stroke technique, discipline, sense of being on a team, social skills, and self esteem. Although we are a competitive swim club, winning isn't our number one priority. Our overriding goal is for all our swimmers to have fun, gain life-long friendships and learn positive life skills through an athletic program based on teamwork, dedication and effort.
