Hi Otters,

My swimming career started when I was 5 years old and I swam for the Pincher Creek Dolphin Summer Swim Club. I swam with the Dolphins until I was 17 and then moved to Calgary to swim for the University of Calgary Swim Club. For 7 years I swam with the U of C Swim Club, and was able to train with some of Canada's best competitors and former Olympians. Having received some of the best coaching in Canada, I am hoping that the knowledge I gained from them will be passed on to the Otter's swimmers.

My philosophy is to emphasize Positive Attitudes, Fun and Fair Play within the pool setting, which can be used in other areas of life. One of the most exciting parts of my swim career was making it to finals at the 1988 Olympic Trials and also traveling to different countries to compete. It is important to myself to encourage each individual to reach their goals and that no goal is too small. Each step will take you closer to the final destination. This was part of many other great swimmers and athletes philosophy, as well as mine.  At this point in my personal life, I am a mother of 4 children - Eric, Bronwyn, Michael and Annikah, all of whom are in the Otters. My swimming hero will be left for you all to guess and most of you will know the name if you know a little about the swimming history. Just to let you know it is not Michael Phelps. Hobbies outside the pool include gardening, cycling and tole art painting.

Take Care,
Rose
